Body hair removal

Girls, males, and females have always had problems with undesirable body hair.  But first, the need to study the various body hair types below is important:

Vellus Hair:  This short, fine hair is barely noticeable when compared to a terminal hair type.  Hormones do not affect this type.  It is mostly observed in children and women.

Lanugo Hair: Basically a type of fetal hair, this hair starts growing three months after the infant is conceived.  It is fine and soft and grows at uniform rate all over a baby’s body.  Premature babies have cushioned or soft hair.  This hair type is shed about 4 weeks prior to due date.

Hirsutism:  Women sometimes suffer from too much growth of hair and this resembles the male hair growth pattern such as  beard and moustache.  This hair type is a lot thicker than the usual hair on limbs.  This may happen due to some medications or to polycystic ovarian syndrome.

Go back to the various ways on removing undesirable body hair; read through this technique galore.  The following are some popular methods that could be applied.

Shaving:  By far, this one is the easiest and cheapest when removing undesirable body hair.  Individuals can do the shaving technique  without visiting the salon.  A shaving kit should contain a razor, shower gel/shaving cream, and hot shower with running water.  Removing hair through the shaving method is not considered long-lasting and not even permanent.  Within hours, the hair begins growing back and the prolonged shaving might make hair coarse and rough.

Waxing:  This method may be painful however women still prefer such method.  Some advantages of this waxing procedure is slowing down the hair re-growth and eliminating the dead cells on skin.  Hair re-growth is observed within three to eight weeks.  In this waxing method, the undesirable hair is spread with the heated wax.  The area is then covered with soft cloth and then stripped off in reverse direction.  Overheating of the wax should not occur to avoid burns.  The waxing method requires hair length of about 1/8-inch to achieve maximum result.

Depilatory Creams:  This is also among the most affordable and the fastest techniques of removing undesirable hair.  These contain chemicals with alkali and help burn the hair’s protein structure.  Hair should have certain length or height to achieve maximum result and can last for 7 days.  However depilatory creams might induce burns up to third degree and rashes on skin.

Electrolysis:  To permanently remove undesirable hair, the electrolysis process is one good choice.  However this method is expensive and might require several sittings.  Electricity and heat combined, hair follicles are destroyed using this procedure.

Laser: This one is another procedure that can permanently remove undesirable hair.  More women have reported experiencing hair disappearance up to 80% after a couple of visits.  This only proves that the technique is effective.  However this method is painful and quite expensive and might even require treatments several times.
